New York City

Memoir:

There’s something strangely nostalgic about New York City, even if your memories of it originated from favorite childhood television shows and you have never actually stepped foot in it. Since childhood, it was a place that I’d always wanted to visit. Coincidentally, they say that if you can make it there you’ll make it anywhere…and that’s why we chose New York City to be our first major stop as digital nomads.

The three months we spent there were indeed filled with “daily irritations, occasional horrors, hourly tests of will and even courage…and huge dollops of pure beauty” (Pete Hamill). We’ll never forget the fascination we had while exploring all the diverse neighborhoods, the joy of finally seeing all the famous landmarks with our own eyes, shopping with the cats at the bodega down the block, trying to decipher those heavy Brooklyn accents, and ohhhh devouring the pizza.

The city will always hold a special place in our hearts and we hope to make it back someday soon.
