One Night of London Eye Candy

Link: Park Plaza County Hall London

When we were planning our short visit to London, we knew we were going to want to stay at a centrally-located hotel so that we could see as much as we could within walking distance. That’s why when Park Plaza County Hall London invited us to stay a night, we were beyond thrilled…especially when we stepped foot into our room for the night!

Can you say, “WOW”?

Spectacular views of the London Eye and Big Ben aside, our Junior Suite on the 12th floor was absolutely wonderful. It was very bright and had modern furnishings, and included a kitchenette (always a must for us), a great desk for working, plenty of storage space to hide away luggage, and a bathroom with a separate tub and shower. The views and the comfort of the room made it difficult to want to go out and sight-see – it almost seemed like a waste to leave the room!

Nonetheless, after check-in handled by a few very kind and accommodating receptionists, we headed out for lunch and to walk along the Thames. We had a lovely long walk which started at the London Eye (about 3 minutes by foot from the hotel) and ended at the Tower Bridge (about 45 minutes by foot). After a quick bicycle ride back to the London Eye, we walked toward Big Ben and Westminster Abbey to round it all out.

We spent the rest of the evening relaxing and enjoying the city views and hotel facilities.

That view, though, seriously…can’t get over it. I found myself wondering if it was one of the best in London. Seeing as how we could see over most of the surrounding buildings, I would venture a guess and say that it was. 🙂

(P.S. if you’re going to pay an arm and a leg for a 30-minute ride on the London Eye, why not spend a little more for a view that will last all night?!)

Many thanks to Park Plaza Hotels for sponsoring our stay in exchange for exposure to our online audience.
